Custom Call Log

LOGAPP is a customized call log system I built using Microsoft PowerApps to support front-desk and administrative teams at SUNY New Paltz Orientation and Marist College Student Activities. It’s a simple but powerful tool that helped our teams respond faster, more consistently, and with greater confidence during high-volume periods.

During peak seasons like orientation and club registration, our offices received dozens of phone calls daily. Without a centralized system, we relied on sticky notes, inboxes, and memory—which led to miscommunication, delays, and frequent “bouncing” of callers between departments.

LOGAPP provided a shared digital space to track calls in real time, record key questions and answers, and assign follow-ups. Instead of transferring people around, we were able to:

  • View recent call history across the team

  • Standardize how we documented concerns

  • Reduce repeat questions and cross-referrals

  • Provide accurate information the first time

LOGAPP significantly reduced the time spent bouncing callers between departments and improved our ability to resolve issues on the first call. Staff felt more in control, and families had a better experience during some of the most stressful parts of the semester.

Student Union Building Management App

I designed and built a custom Student Union Management App using Microsoft PowerApps to streamline operations within the Student Union at SUNY New Paltz. The app was created to bridge the gap between professional staff and student employees by providing a centralized, mobile-accessible system for managing events, building operations, and task accountability.

Event & Setup Management: Staff can easily enter event logistics, room setups, and special instructions—all of which are visible in real time to student employees.

  • Task Assignment & Tracking: Student staff can view their assigned tasks, confirm task status, and upload proof of completion (e.g., photos, notes).

  • Operations Logs: Includes tools for submitting building rounds, incident reports, and shift summaries, replacing multiple paper forms with a single digital workflow.

  • Instructional Documentation: A built-in library of setup diagrams and procedures ensures student workers have access to guidance without needing constant supervision.

Since implementation, the app has dramatically improved communication and task clarity across shifts. It helped the building achieve a higher task completion success rate, reduced miscommunication, and provided a transparent record of operational activity for professional staff.
